Statesman in the Senate

Not since the recovery of independence in July 1946 has the Philippines faced more important elections than the May 2010 elections. The nation and the world today face many crises and challenges. More than ever, we need the best and the brightest Filipinos in the Presidency, in Congress, and in Local Government.

In the Senate, extreme partisanship has displaced statesmanship. Instead of reasoned debate on issues, name-calling and vulgarity have become the order of the day. The once highly-respected chamber has been turned into a circus. And serious matters of state have been neglected.

Kit Tatad, former Senate Majority Leader and senator for two consecutive terms, stands on a platform to restore dignity, purpose and statesmanship to the Senate.

We need him in the Senate.
